I went to see the Chinese New Year’s celebrations in Chinatown. I enjoyed watching the Lion dancers and listening to the music. The performance on this photo was different. One of the dance group members explained to me with pride that this is not a lion, but a unicorn or Qilin. The unicorn is a spiritual animal and therefore more powerful than the lion.
