Applewine is the typical drink in Frankfurt. It is a bit like cider, but not sparkling and it tastes rather dry. Traditionally Applewine is served in a jug called Bembel and drank from a glass called Geripptes. The landlord of a proper pub makes his own Applewine and takes pride in it.
